19-year-old named after fatal crash in Holmfirth

Police have named a 19-year-old man who died following a crash in Holmfirth.

Ashton Tomes, a passenger in a silver Skoda Fabia, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after the car left the road and collided with a wall on Sheffield Road, Jackson Bridge at around 10.11 pm on 11th February.

Sadly, Tomes died from his injuries two days later.

Three 19-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of several offences, including dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs.

These individuals were traveling in a convoy with a white Skoda Fabia and a blue BMW from Langsett Reservoir to Holmfirth when the collision occurred.

All three men have since been bailed as investigations continue.

The Roads Policing Unit is asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage of the vehicles prior to the incident to come forward.
