Two men charged after drug lab discoveries in Castleford
Laboratory equipment and THC-infused sweets were seized in a police raid
Two men have been charged with multiple drug offences after police discovered a suspected drugs lab in Castleford.
Properties on Garden Street and Smawthorne Grove were raided on Wednesday (May 6).
Officers uncovered laboratory equipment used for drug production, a large stash of cannabis, and materials linked to the manufacture of THC-infused sweets.
Among the items seized from the Garden Street address were packaging materials, needles, and vials associated with unregulated weight-loss injections.
Numerous prescription medicines were also confiscated.
Sam Hebblethwaite, 34, of Garden Street, has been charged with conspiring to produce Class B drugs, possession of unauthorised medicinal products intended for supply, manufacturing medicinal products for unauthorised sale, possession with intent to supply Class C drugs, production of cannabis, and possession of cannabis with intent to supply.
Mark Asprey, 44, of Smawthorne Grove, faces charges of conspiracy to produce Class B drugs, possession with intent to supply Class C drugs, possession with intent to supply cannabis, and production of cannabis.
Both men are remanded to appear before magistrates in Leeds today (May 8).
A woman arrested in connection with the investigation has been released pending further inquiries.
