Daniel Farke is satisfied Leeds are on the right path to Premier League survival, but has warned "challenges and tough times" lie ahead.

Leeds are 15th in the table following last week's third win of the season against West Ham - six points clear of the bottom three - while eight of the previous 10 promoted teams to reach 11 points after nine games have gone on to stay up.

Farke, whose side play at Brighton on Saturday, said: "We would be a bit more relaxed if we had achieved all the points we deserved - we should be on 15, 16, 17 perhaps - but we know we're on a good path, the points average is good.

"The most important thing is performances are good. It's not like we have had lots of luck. We've earned the points the hard way and in a few games have been unlucky. We're on a good path, but it's no guarantee.

"We were the first team not be be automatically promoted from the Championship on 90 points a few seasons ago. We never do anything easy at Leeds United, so there will be challenges and tough times to come."

Farke received a boost this week as left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson has recovered from bruising after being forced off in last Friday's 2-1 home win against West Ham.

Willy Gnonto has had a full week of training following a calf strain and minor hernia surgery and could be included in the squad as Leeds bid for their first win against Brighton in seven matches.
