Man in 'stable condition' after turning up at Leeds General Infirmary with gunshot wounds

Police say a 29 year old man is in a stable condition in hospital after turning up at Leeds General Infirmary last night with gunshot wounds.
The incident led to a police cordon being put up at the hospital while police investigated what happened.
It's not believed the man was shot near the hospital.
Two men, aged 27 and 44, remain in custody on suspicion of wounding with intent.
A police statement released earlier said:
"We have been made aware of speculation on social media regarding police activity outside the Leeds General Infirmary this evening.
"Officers were called shortly after 5.30pm by hospital staff after a man in his late twenties presented at the hospital with injuries consistent with a firearm discharge.
"His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
"The incident did not occur at the hospital or on its grounds, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what took place and how the man came to be injured.
"Two men have been arrested, and a police cordon is in place."
