Castleford Tigers have announced the signing of two new players, ahead of a key Super League Rivals Round clash with Wakefield tonight.

24 year old French International forward Hugo Salabio joins from Hull FC on a season long loan deal with a two week recall option.

He's gained experience in Super League with Huddersfield Giants and has also played for tonight's opponents Trinity.

Elsewhere, Cas have captured prop Tom Amone from NRL side Canterbury Bulldogs, on a deal keeping him in West Yorkshire until the end of the season.

The 28 year old was part of Leigh's 2023 Challenge Cup winning side.

Tigers Director of Rugby Danny Wilson said: “Tom is a significant signing for the club, especially at this stage of the season. When we heard of his availability we didn’t hesitate."

"He is a ‘marquee-player’ and to be able to attract and sign players of this value, and quality is an indication of the direction Martin Jepson wants to take the club."
