Man charged after local election canvasser assaulted in Batley
The victim was pushed to the ground and needed treatment in hospital
A man has been charged after a local elections canvasser was assaulted in Batley earlier this week.
The 58 year old victim was pushed to the ground and later needed hospital treatment following the incident on Bradford Road on Monday (April 20).
A 45 year old man from Birstall has now been charged with assault and is due before Kirklees Magistrates Court on July 13.
He has been released on conditional bail.
