Three men have been jailed for a combined 60 years for their involvement in a shooting and stabbing in Bradford last year.

Harris Mohammed, 24, of Carr Bottom Avenue, and Riccardo Nadim, 20, of Tarnside Drive, Leeds, were found guilty of attempted murder and conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Meanwhile, Davian Lewis, 20 and of Paley Road, was found guilty of assisting an offender but not guilty of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.

The attack happened on March 9 last year, when an 18-year-old man was shot and stabbed in a car on Dovesdale Road.

He suffered serious injuries to his face, arm, and back but has since made a recovery.

At Bradford Crown Court earlier a judge handed Mohammed a 30-year prison term, Nadim 28 years, and Lewis two and a half years.

Detective Inspector Suzanne Hall of West Yorkshire Police said: “This was a shocking incident that left a man seriously injured in the middle of the street, and it understandably caused fear and concern within the community."

“Today’s sentences send a clear message that those who choose to carry or use firearms and weapons will be pursued and brought before the courts."

“Three men have now been convicted and sentenced for their roles in this violent offence, which could easily have resulted in a loss of life."

“We remain committed to tackling criminality and will continue to work closely with partners and communities to keep people safe.”
