A 78-year-old motorcyclist has died in a road traffic incident involving multiple vehicles at Southowram.
Police officers and emergency services were called to Brookfoot Lane at 12.24pm on Saturday 31st January after reports that a motorbike rider had come off his bike near the quarry.
Despite their efforts, Stephen Park, 78, from Brighouse, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Arrests have been made
West Yorkshire Police have made three arrests on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving: a 23-year-old woman and two men aged 39 and 35, who remain in custody as enquiries continue.
Detective Sergeant Nina Roper, from the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said:
"Multiple enquiries are ongoing... into this very serious road traffic incident which has caused the tragic death of Mr Park.
"Specially trained officers are working to support his family, and we are working to determine the full circumstances of just what has occurred.
"From our initial enquiries we do believe several vehicles were involved in an incident on the road just prior to Mr Park coming off his bike, and now have made three arrests.
"I am appealing for anyone who saw an incident there and the behaviour of any other vehicles associated with Mr Park being dismounted to come forwards."
