Two hospitalised after motorbike crash on A66

Two men are being treated in hospital after falling from a black Yamaha motorbike on the A66 eastbound near the cinema early this morning.

The incident took place early this morning, 31st July, when the men reportedly came off their black Yamaha motorbike at around 4am.

Police are requesting information and any dash cam footage that could aid their investigation into the accident and the motorbike's driving prior to the crash.

The injured men, aged 18 and 24, are currently receiving treatment at James Cook University Hospital.

A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a road traffic incident on the A66, Middlesbrough shortly before 4am on 31 July.

"We dispatched two double crewed ambulances, a specialist paramedic and a clinical team leader.

"Two patients were taken to James Cook Hospital."
