Two arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after Gainford shooting
A 46-year-old man remains in a critical, but stable condition

An investigation is under way after a 46-year-old man was seriously injured in a shooting at a property in Gainford last night.
Emergency services were called to an address in Balmer Hill shortly after 8.10pm on August 29, following reports that suspects had driven to the property and fired shots from a vehicle before leaving the area.
The man suffered birdshot injuries to his abdomen and was taken to hospital for treatment. His condition is currently described as critical but stable.
No other people at the property were injured.
