Tributes are being paid to a greengrocer who spent more than seven decades serving customers at Darlington Market.

Robin Blair died yesterday (Monday 6th July 2026) at the age of 81.

He helped run his family's business JJ Blair & Sons - and has been described as 'hardworking' and 'truly one of a kind'.

The indoor market has been closed today (Tuesday 7th July 2026) as a mark of respect.

Darlington Market paid tribute in a post on social media.
