Tributes paid to seven year old killed in Grangetown house fire
Valentina Foster was one of two people who died in a fatal house fire on Birchington Avenue last week
A family has paid tribute to their daughter, seven-year-old Valentina Foster, who has now been formally identified following a house fire in the early hours of Wednesday 26th August.
Valentina and a woman, who has yet to be formally identified, but has been named locally as her aunt, Natalie McDonald, died in the incident in Birchington Avenue in Grangetown.
Today, Valentina’s family said:
“It is with overwhelming sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that our beloved daughter has passed away.
“She was deeply loved and will be missed beyond words by her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched. Our lives have changed forever, and we are struggling to come to terms with this devastating loss.
“Our daughter will always be in our hearts, and her memory will live with us forever.
“Forever missed by her brothers and sisters.”
A 23-year-old man appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 1st September, charged with two counts of murder, two counts of Section 18 GBH with intent, and two counts of attempted section 18 GBH with intent.
He is remanded in custody until Thursday 3rd September, where he will appear at Teesside Crown Court.
A man and a woman remain in hospital receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the house fire.
