Teesside gym owner hoping to become Britain's strongest woman
Shauna Moar is competing at the tournament in Bolton
A Teesside gym owner is hoping all of her hard work will pay off as she competes to be Britain's strongest woman tomorrow.
Shauna Moar, who lives in Ingleby Barwick but owns and runs Moar Coaching gym in Middlesbrough, is taking part in the under 82kg weight class category.
She said: "Last year I placed 7th at this competition, so I'm hoping to improve on that and if I can get myself on podium I'll be very happy. Training has been full on as always. I only qualified for this competition five weeks ago so really I've only had four weeks to prepare. It's very heavy weights at the competition so I've been training hard and trying to hit those numbers which have gone really well.
"I'm feeling really excited. It's always a brilliant atmopshere in the arena, there's a big audience and there's lots of athletes. Everyone's really supportive and cheering everyone on so it's always a lovely environment to compete in.
"Under my own gym and being a coach myself, the support from the gym members and my client has been unreal. I believe some of my clients are even making the trip over to Bolton to come and watch the competition so it's lovely. And obviously my biggest supporter is my fiancee Rachel. She goes above and beyond."
