Police investigate after woman threatened with knife in Stockton park

Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in the Stockton area today

A woman's been left shaken - after being threatened with a knife in a Stockton park.

Around 7:30am this morning, a woman aged in her fifties was approached at speed by a suspect who was riding a black e-scooter and wearing a balaclava in Hardwick Green Park.

The male suspect threatened the woman with a knife. Fortunately, the woman was unharmed but was left shaken.

Detective Sergeant Paul Edmonds, from Stockton CID, said: “This has been an attack on a woman in the park which we believed is targeted. Fortunatelty, the woman was left uninjured although understandably shaken by the incident.

“We are carrying out multiple enquiries to identify the person responsible, and would encourage anyone with information to contact police.”
