The family of a second man, who died in the sea near Seaton Carew last week, have paid tribute to him.
The family of a second man, who died in the sea near Seaton Carew last week, have paid tribute to him.
38 year old Wayne Taylor, from County Durham had entered the water to help children in difficulty in the water on Saturday the 12th of July.
He, along with Ian Pascoe, who was 63 and from Peterlee, both died at the scene.
Today, Wayne's family released this tribute:
“Firstly, we would like to extend our condolences to the family of Ian Pascoe, who have also suffered a devastating loss.
“We would like to thank everyone who was at the beach and helped, those who entered the water, and all the emergency services who attended to assist. We are extremely grateful for all the support we have received.
“We are still struggling to come to terms with what has happened and would ask for privacy and time as a family to begin to process these tragic events.”
Last week, Ian Pascoe's family also released a tribute;
"It is with profound sadness that we confirm the death of our beloved father, husband, brother and grandad, Ian.
“As a family, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the police, ambulance service, Coastguard and RNLI for their efforts, professionalism and compassion throughout this incredibly difficult time. We will always be grateful to everyone involved.
“We have been truly humbled by the overwhelming response from members of the public, so many of whom have clearly been touched and moved by this tragedy.
"The messages of sympathy, kindness and support have meant more to our family than we can adequately put into words.
“Ian will forever remain in our hearts. He was deeply loved, and the loss we feel is immeasurable.
“We will miss him always and carry his memory with us for the rest of our lives.
“We respectfully ask for privacy as our family grieves and comes to terms with our loss."
