£90,000 of cocaine is found in a car in Stockton

A 43-year-old Ormesby man has been charged with drug offences

Acting on information from members of the public, officers from Stockton’s neighbourhood policing team stopped a vehicle that had failed to stop as it travelled along Durham Road.

Once stopping for officers, a search of the vehicle led to cocaine worth approximately £90,000 being found as well as a large amount of cash.

Two men, aged 35 and 43, were arrested and taken to custody.

Following questioning, the 43-year-old man was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Monday 6 October.

The 35-year-old man was questioned in connection with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, dangerous driving, drug driving and failing to stop for an officer. He has been released on conditional bail.
