The wait is nearly over. Following the buzz around its arrival in Teesside, Burger Drop has officially named 176 Linthorpe Road as the home of its first-ever Middlesbrough restaurant, bringing its cult smash burger experience right into the heart of the town.

The well-known site, formerly 176 Bar & Kitchen, is currently undergoing a full transformation to match Burger Drop’s flavour-first, precision-built approach.

Set to open this autumn, the 20-cover restaurant will offer a clean, stripped-back space to enjoy the brand’s famous burgers with takeaway and delivery via Uber Eats, making it just as easy to enjoy at home.

Since its launch in 2020, Burger Drop has built a loyal following on more than just great ingredients; it’s about method, craft and consistency. The brand uses fresh ground beef sourced exclusively for its kitchens, brioche buns crafted to its own recipe and a perfected smash technique that delivers crisp-edged patties layered with bold, balanced toppings. Every element is intentional, engineered for maximum flavour.

Middlesbrough customers can expect the full lineup, from the Classic Build to loaded fries topped with inventive combinations and indulgent shakes blended to order.

Co-founder, Hasan Hamid, said: “Linthorpe Road was an easy choice for us. It’s right in the centre of where Middlesbrough meets and eats. The town has a vibrant food scene and we’re here to add to it with burgers built with precision and packed with flavour. This is more than just a new restaurant, it’s about becoming part of the community, giving Middlesbrough the Burger Drop experience it deserves!”

The Linthorpe Road restaurant will be Burger Drop’s sixth UK location, joining Newcastle, Whitley Bay, Sunderland, Manchester and most recently Edinburgh, with more drops planned as part of the brand’s national expansion.

The new restaurant is scheduled to open later this year, with further details to be announced.
