A dispersal order is being put in place in Coulby Newham in Middlesbrough, after reports of objects being thrown at vehicles, including buses.

The order, which begins today (Friday 17th April), means that any groups can be asked to leave the area for a period of up to 48 hours, and if those people return to the area within that time they can be arrested.

The order is put in place for 48 hours (the maximum time that can be applied, although another can be put in place afterwards) to help prevent further incidents and help reassure the local community that action is being taken.

Neighbourhood Inspector Des Horton said: “We will not tolerate this behaviour and will take appropriate action against anyone found to be throwing objects at vehicles. This is not antisocial behaviour, it is crime. It is dangerous and puts people at risk.”

The areas bordered by the map are Newham Way, Stainton Way, Ryehills Way and the B1365.
