Middlesbrough’s South Neighbourhood Policing Team has dismantled two cannabis farms, estimated to be worth £200,000.

Officers attended an address on Carisbrooke Road and another property on Burwell Road in Middlesbrough on Sunday 1st March following information received.

In Carisbrooke Road, cannabis plants believed to be worth up to £189,000 were recovered, while at Burwell Road, £10,000 worth of plants were seized.

Equipment was also seized by officers, and the properties were made safe by the electric board.

No one was found inside the properties, and enquiries are ongoing to locate those responsible.

Acting Chief Inspector Kester Haith from Cleveland Police said: “By seizing this large quantity of drugs, we’re taking them off the streets and ensuring organised crime groups are not profiting from the sales.

“We will continue to seize drugs and tackle criminals who exploit vulnerable people for their own benefit. Anyone with information regarding drugs activity in their local area is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101.”
