A man's due in court after a Cleveland Police officer was hit by a car
Durham Police have charged a man with attempted murder and dangerous driving
A man has been charged with attempted murder following a collision in the Horden area on Monday morning.
Durham officers responded to a report from colleagues at Cleveland Police stating that one of their officers had been hit by a car while carrying out enquiries.
The officer sustained injuries to his arm and leg and was taken to University Hospital North Durham for treatment.
Following a short police chase which ended in Trimdon Grange, a 29-year-old man was arrested.
Jonathan Kenneth Collingwood, of Hartlepool, was remanded into custody to appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court today.
