Wesley Brito, a 47-year-old from Swindon, has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after admitting to a series of rapes and sexual offences against two female victims.
Brito pleaded guilty at Swindon Crown Court to multiple charges including sexual assaults on a child under 13, sexual activity with a child, rape, attempted rape, and sexual activity in the presence of a child, alongside the rape of a woman in her 40s.
As part of his sentencing, Brito was issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, a restraining order, and added to the Sex Offenders' Register.
The offences spanned several years involving two victims known to Brito, first reported to Wiltshire Police in 2025 after the adult victim disclosed the abuse to a third party.
In subsequent months, the young victim courageously shared her experience with officers, prompting Brito's charges and eventual conviction.
Investigating officer DC Chloe Smith from the Child Abuse Investigation Team commended the victims' bravery, emphasizing the significant impact these crimes had on their lives.
Smith acknowledged the challenges of reporting such offences, highlighting the importance of listening to victims and the seriousness with which these reports are treated.
