Man taken to hospital after M4 crash near Swindon

A man has been taken to hospital after a crash on the M4 near Swindon this morning (11th May).

Emergency Services were called to the motorway between junctions 17 and 16 just after 10am after a car collided with the central reservation.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said they used hydraulic cutting equipment to free one casualty who was taken to West General Hospital by paramedics.

The man's vehicle was recovered and the M4 was cleared by 11:55am.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: "We attended a collision on the M4 just after 10.05am today after a vehicle collided with the central reservation between junction 17 and 16. The male driver was taken to hospital and recovery arranged for his vehicle. The M4 was cleared by 11.55am.
