Man arrested after "assault" inside car on M4 near Swindon will face no further action

Police say a man arrested after another man was allegedly assaulted inside a car on the M4 near Swindon will face no further action.
Officers were called to the incident between junctions 16 and 17 of the M4 Westbound at around 2:30pm on 28th January, following a report from the ambulance service that a man had suffered serious facial injuries in an assault inside a grey Vauxhall Astra.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was found in the passenger seat of the car on the motorway’s hard shoulder.
A man, who is known to the victim, was later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and drink driving.
Police say the suspect will face no further action for the assault arrest and has been bailed for the drink driving offence.
