A 70-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in Highworth.
Gary Rogers, of Downs View, is due to appear in court today (6/8).
In a statement, Wiltshire Police confirmed: "A 70-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious incident in Highworth.
"Gary Rogers, of Downs View, Highworth, was arrested following the incident at his home on Tuesday, 4 August.
"A 69-year-old woman sustained serious injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. She remains in hospital receiving treatment.
"Rogers has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court today (6 August)."
In an update - Wiltshire Police confirmed Rogers appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court.
No plea was entered and he was remanded into custody until his next court appearance at Swindon Crown Court on September 4.
