A car has obstructed the railway track between Trowbridge and Chippenham, resulting in blocked rail lines and disrupted train services.

Network Rail is currently working to remove the vehicle.

Train services between Swindon and Westbury via Melksham may be cancelled or diverted, with disruption anticipated until midday on 17th March.

Where alternative routes are viable, trains will be rerouted, although this will mean services are unable to stop at Melksham.

Passengers with tickets routed via Melksham have several options.

They can use them for travel through Bath Spa without extra cost.

Replacement road transport has been organized to operate between Chippenham and Westbury, calling at Melksham and Trowbridge.

Additionally, train tickets can be used on the Faresaver bus route X34, which links Chippenham (Bus Station, Bay 6), Melksham (McDonalds, a 10-minute walk from the station), and Trowbridge (Trinity Church, a short walk from the station).

If your train is cancelled, you may also travel on the next available service, whether peak or restricted; your original ticket will be valid at no extra cost.

For real-time journey planning and service updates, passengers are advised to utilise the National Rail Enquiries planner or consult station staff.
