Chippenham man pleads guilty to making indecent images of children

47-year-old Adam Das, formerly known as Rodney Fernandes, of Chippenham, pleaded guilty to three counts of making an indecent photograph of a child at Swindon Magistrates Court on March 24th.

Police received a report in December 2024 that Das had uploaded an indecent image of a child to the internet. Officers carried out enquiries and they then arrested him at his address.

Police seized a number of devices and a significant number of accessible indecent images of children were found which has been attributed to Das. These included 67 category A images, 290 category B images and 1,821 category C images

Det Con Justine Parsons, from the Child Internet Exploitation Team, said: “These are extremely serious offences."

"Our priority remains protecting children from harm. We will continue to carry out diligent investigations into reports of online child abuse like this case to ensure offenders are put before the courts.”

Das will be sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on April the 29th.
