A woman has spoken in court about her fear of going outside after allegedly being raped on Brighton beach by two men, while another filmed the attack.

The woman was separated from her friends during a night out.

Egyptian nationals Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, and Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, alongside Iranian national Abdulla Ahmadi, 26, are accused of targeting the woman, claimed to have been "staggering in the street" alone.

Prosecutors allege that Alshafe and Ahmadi repeatedly raped the woman in a "cynical, predatory and callous" attack on the beach in East Sussex in the early hours of 4th October 2025, while Al-Danasurt allegedly filmed the incident.

During the trial at Hove Crown Court, a statement from a friend's testimony noted the alleged victim was found with "mud and dirt going down her legs and on her knees" and a "sore" cut.

The sister of the alleged victim testified that she noticed neck marks consistent with strangulation.

The prosecution highlighted further claims of the victim being spat on, grabbed, and held down during the attack.

All three defendants, residents of Home Office-approved accommodation at Cisswood House Hotel, have denied the charges.

Ahmadi of Crewe and Alshafe of Lower Beeding each denied two counts of rape.

Al-Danasurt, also from Lower Beeding, faces charges on all four counts as a secondary party, accused of "encouraging the rape by his actions at the scene, including filming it," and denies a fifth charge related to sharing filmed recordings.

The trial is ongoing.
