Three men have been fined for poaching in Pevensey.
20 year-old Johnny Glasheen, of Plymouth Avenue, Brighton, 36 year-old Edward Glisheen, of Plymouth Avenue, Brighton, and 42 year-old Joe Ripley, of New Road, Rustington attended court.
The trio all pleaded guilty to daytime trespass in pursuit of game (poaching) and hunting a wild mammal with dogs.
They have each been ordered to pay £505 in fines and court costs.
Rural Crime Team officer Police Constable Zoe King, the officer in charge of the case, said: “Poaching and hare coursing will not be tolerated in Sussex.
“It puts our local wildlife at risk of serious harm and death, and it impacts farmers whose land is trespassed upon, and crops are often destroyed.
“We will continue investigating any report received and pursuing those responsible.”
