A teenager has been disqualified from driving, after he was caught riding an illegal e-bike in public.

Officers from the Specialist Enforcement Unit responded to reports of an e-bike being ridden dangerously in Littlehampton town centre, including on the pavement and almost hitting an elderly dog walker, on 6 January.

The rider, aged 17, was located on Pier Road and detained.

His vehicle was confirmed to be illegal to ride in public and was therefore seized.

He was disqualified from driving for four months, and ordered to pay court costs and fines totalling £126.
