Serious crash closes A23 overnight
The road is expected to stay shut all morning
The A23 has been closed overnight after a serious crash.
The collision happened at around 10:20pm on Thursday night (16 April) and Sussex Police say multiple vehicles were involved and there have been serious injuries.
The road is shut northbound between the B2117 at Hurstpierpoint and the B2118 at Sayers Common.
The road was initially closed to allow emergency services to work safely at the scene and to begin essential investigative work.
Police say the investigation will carry on through the day, keeping the A23 northbound closed all morning, including rush hour.
The road isn't expected to re-open until later today at the earliest.
