Mannings Heath man jailed for breaching sexual harm order and making indecent images
Five-year sentence for persistent offences involving indecent images
Mark Grindon, a 42-year-old from Mannings Heath, Horsham, has been sentenced to five years and four months in prison for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and producing indecent images of children.
Grindon, residing in Swallowfield Close, had previously been sentenced for making indecent images in October 2016, leading to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that was later amended to an indefinite status in December 2019.
His arrest in December 2023 followed a vehicle stop that revealed possession of prohibited devices, leading to charges of breaching the order. After pleading guilty, an investigation uncovered more than 1,400 indecent images of children and several social media accounts under false names.
Further charges included making indecent images and failing compliance with sex offender notification requirements. Trials and hearings across multiple courts resulted in his current sentencing, and an additional four months were added for failing to surrender device credentials.
Detective Sergeant Melanie Pyle, commenting on the case, highlighted the severity and harm of Grindon’s offences, expressing satisfaction that justice was served.
