Son of couple jailed in Iran hopes jail sentence will be a 'foundation' for action
Lindsay and Craig Foreman were sentenced to ten years imprisonment this week.
The son of an East Sussex couple accused of spying in Iran is hoping their jail term will be a "foundation" for action.
Lindsay and Craig Foreman were handed ten years this week - fourteen months after being detained over allegations they deny.
The foreign secretary, Yvette Cooper, has since said the government will pursue the case relentlessly, until the couple are returned home.
Joe Bennett believes it's a positive step: "It's a tough situation and we can't take away from the fact that my parents shouldn't be in that situation. But when the government comes out and they discuss it and they give statements like they have which is a definite shift in tone, it does fill you with confidence."
"For the last fourteen months, we've been in a bit of a void and now we've got clarity. Right, ok, they've been sentenced, we can move on that now."
