One man has died and another has been arrested after the vans they were driving crashed on the A27 near Pevensey.

The crash happened on the westbound carriageway approaching Golden Jubilee Way shortly before 6.30am on 13 July.

The driver of a white Mercedes Sprinter van, a 31-year-old man from Bexhill, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and drug driving.

Meanwhile the driver of a white Volkswagen Caddy van, a 20-year-old man from Heathfield, was seriously injured and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

He later died in hospital as a result of his injuries, and his next of kin have been informed.

Sussex Police officers are continuing to investigate the collision, and have appealed for witnesses and anyone with relevant information to come forward if they have not already done so.
