Help name the endangered baby monkey at Drusillas Park
A colombian black spider money has been born in East Sussex
There's a new face at Drusillas Park in East Sussex, with the arrival of a baby Colombian black spider monkey.
Born in early April to mum Moa, the little monkey is the first addition to the family since their move to the park last October.
Zoo Manager Mark Kenward was thrilled with the news, saying, "It's been absolutely lovely to welcome a baby spider monkey to the Park. Moa is proving to be a fantastic mum, and it's been wonderful to see how the whole group has come together around her."
The monkey family includes dad Mo, mum Jamundi, their kids Ernie and one-year-old Dilly, and new mum Moa.
These monkeys are native to Colombia's rainforests and are considered ‘Vulnerable’ because their habitats are disappearing.
Visitors can even help choose a name for the baby girl. The options draw inspiration from her Colombian heritage with Spanish choices including Blanca, Bonita, Olaya, and Kaya, and Kendall—a fun nod to keeper Megan Kendall.
