Motorcyclist killed in crash involving council contractor vehicle in East Sussex

A motorcyclist has died following a crash involving a vehicle operated by a contractor for Wealden District Council.
The collision happened on the A267 at Boship Roundabout in Lower Dicker, Hailsham, on 2nd July, at around 9:25 am.
The motorcyclist, a 53-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wealden District Council confirmed that the vehicle involved belonged to Biffa, an environmental service response contractor working on behalf of the council.
A spokesperson for Wealden District Council said: "We have been informed by our contractor Biffa that one of its vehicles, which provides environmental response services on behalf of the council, was involved in a serious road traffic collision on the A267 this morning close to the Boship Roundabout services."
They added, "Our thoughts are with their family, friends, and all those affected by this tragic incident."
The incident is being investigated by Sussex Police, and Biffa is fully cooperating with the enquiries.
