Officers arrested two men on 14 August after intercepting a car believed to be involved in drug dealing in the Regency area in Brighton.
Proactive police patrols were being carried out in Brighton when officers spotted a vehicle in Clarence Square being driven in a suspicious manner.
Members of the public were seen approaching the vehicle, getting inside, and leaving a short time later.
Further suspicious activity was observed as the car travelled towards Grand Parade, leading officers to conduct a vehicle stop and detain two men.
Class A drugs and cash was seized from the vehicle, and the two men, aged 39 and 41 were arrested and taken to custody.
The following day, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised charges, and 39-year-old Adam Powney, of Honeybridge Lane, Dial Post, was charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug. Powney was remanded from court.
41-year-old Mitchell Kinner, of Saunders Park Rise, Brighton, was charged the same day with three counts of possessing a Class A drug, and being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug. He has since been released on conditional bail.
Both men are set to appear for at Lewes Crown Court on 11 September.
