Police in Eastbourne were called out on Sunday morning after reports of a row involving some youngsters and what was thought might be a gun.

At around 11 am, officers arrived at The Hydeneye and found four boys, aged 13 to 16, in the area.

Following a search, one of the boys mentioned he'd thrown the item into some bushes at Sovereign Harbour.

To make sure everything was safe, police cordoned off part of the area while they searched for it.

The item was found and turned out to be a toy gun made of plastic.

The boys were given some advice and were then allowed to go.
