Pedestrian in her 80s seriously injured in West Byfleet crash

Police are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian and a red Fiat Punto on Old Woking Road

A woman in her 80s is in hospital with serious injuries following a collision involving a car on the A245 Old Woking Road in West Byfleet.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.15pm last night (28th November), responding to reports that a car had hit a pedestrian near the junctions of Sheerwater Road and Elmstead Road.

Police have arrested a man in his 60s on suspicion of multiple offences, including causing serious injury by dangerous driving, drink driving, drug driving, driving while unfit through drink, and driving while unfit through drugs.

Surrey Police are asking for public assistance as they investigate the collision. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the movements of a red Fiat Punto leading up to the incident.

People who were in the area of Old Woking Road between 5pm and 5.30pm are encouraged to check their CCTV, dashcam, or helmet cam footage for anything that may help.
