A man was arrested in connection with an incident in Municipal Gardens.
Police were called just before 7:30pm on Tuesday with reports that a man was causing damage, assaulting people and being racially abusive to members of the public.
A 58-year-old man from Ash has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, common assault, affray, criminal damage, and racially aggravated public order offences.
