Guildford and Waverley residents, along with those working in the area, now have access to FiveDinners, a free online meal-planning tool that aims to help users save money, reduce food waste, and promote healthy eating.

The initiative, launched collaboratively by Guildford Borough Council and Waverley Borough Council, offers personalised weekly meal plans tailored to household needs and preferences, facilitating easier meal planning and maximising budgets.

Community Support

In response to the ongoing cost of living pressures, Councils are providing free access to FiveDinners as a practical resource to assist residents with daily living challenges, while simultaneously addressing food waste concerns.

FiveDinners is designed to be user-friendly and is accessible at no cost to anyone living or working in either Guildford or Waverley.

Official Statements

Residents can start using FiveDinners from Monday, 1st June.

Cllr Carla Morson, Lead Councillor for Community, expressed the importance of the initiative, saying, “We know many households are feeling the pressure of rising food costs and are seeking simple ways to extend their budgets."

“We’re offering free access to FiveDinners because it’s straightforward to use, seamlessly fits into everyday life, and assists families and individuals in planning affordable meals while minimising food waste.”

Morson proudly highlighted FiveDinners as part of a broader suite of support services, which includes community fridges, pantries, and local food services designed to help people across the borough eat well for less.
