A man has been jailed following the discovery of drugs and cash during a police stop in Guildford.

Joao Brandao Dos Santos, 26, from Redhill, was stopped by Neighbourhood Policing Team officers on 2nd December 2025.

During routine checks, irregularities with the vehicle’s registration and insurance emerged.

Officers noted Dos Santos was carrying two mobile phones and a substantial amount of cash.

He was detained under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, leading to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of a white sock containing multiple bags of cocaine.

Further examination at Dos Santos's home address revealed digital scales, more cocaine totalling 16.14 grams, and additional cash of £1512.50.

On 22nd April, Dos Santos pled guilty at Guildford Crown Court to possession with intent to supply cocaine, driving without a valid licence, and insurance.

He received a 30-month sentence and was ordered to pay £228, with the seized cash forfeited to authorities.

PC Selby highlighted the effectiveness of Op Limit alongside efforts to combat road network criminality year-round.

"This stop demonstrates how proactive policing can uncover serious offences," PC Selby said.
