Surrey family attraction re-opens amid water supply issues
Burst mains in KT19 area impact local businesses and residents
Residents and businesses in Epsom have been dealing with water supply challenges due to a burst main, according to Thames Water.
The issue, which began on 20th August, has resulted in low water pressure and loss of supply for many.
Hobbledown Farm, a local family attraction, announced a temporary closure on Thursday due to the interruption.
Thames Water utilities have diverted water around the network to restore supply to affected homes and businesses.
However, some areas may continue to experience low pressure until the situation stabilises.
In a statement, Hobbledown said: ‘Unfortunately, due to an unexpected issue with the local water supply, Hobbledown will need to close today. We apologise for the disruption.’
The attraction confirmed it reopened on Friday, ensuring customers that planned events would go ahead as scheduled.
Helen Maguire, Liberal Democrat MP for Epsom & Ewell, raised concerns about Thames Water's infrastructure improvements and accountability.
She emphasized the need for more investment and transparency, criticising the ongoing water issues in the KT19 area.
Thames Water has apologised for any inconvenience caused and reiterated their commitment to resolving the issue swiftly.
