Cyclist injured in Kessingland fail-to-stop collision

The man has been taken to hospital with internal injuries

Police were called to an incident on the southbound carriageway of the A12 at around 6.35am today (Wednesday 14 May).

A male cyclists, aged in his 50s, was struck from behind by a white van. The impact caused him to fall to the ground and the vehicle's wing mirror to fall off.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene and proceeded to drive away, leaving the injured cyclist.

The victim was taken to James Pages Hospital for treatment - as he has sustained internal injuries. Luckily, these injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or motorists driving in the area this morning who may have dash cam footage of a white van missing a wing mirror.
