Serving Essex Police officer appears in court in Ipswich on charges
Ian Bell, from Suffolk, has been suspended from duty
A serving Essex Police officer has appeared in court charged with coercive and controlling behaviour.
PC Ian Bell, 45, of Hadleigh, Suffolk, was arrested in January in connection with alleged offences between 2017 and 2024.
He appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on 20 March and is next due to appear at the same court on 28 May.
A trial date has been set for 16 November 2026.
PC Bell is currently suspended from duty.
