Cyclist seriously injured after fail-to-stop collision on the A1152 Wilford Bridge Road.

The incident occurred just after 12:45pm on Friday (11 July) between the traffic lights near Melton Primary School and Riduna Park.

It is believed the cyclist, a man in his 70s, was involved in a collision with a dark-coloured vehicle—possibly blue—which failed to stop at the scene.

The man came off his bicycle and sustained serious injuries.

Emergency services were called, and the injured cyclist was taken to hospital.

His injuries were not initially thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The road was closed while emergency crews attended the scene and reopened shortly before 2pm.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, saw the vehicle involved, or may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
