Man sentenced to over two years for drug offences in Ipswich
Fernandson Sousa jailed for cocaine and cannabis supply
Fernandson Sousa, a 32-year-old with no fixed address, has been sentenced to 31 months in prison for drug offences at Ipswich Crown Court.
Sousa faced charges of possession with intent to supply both a class A drug, cocaine, and a class B drug, cannabis, following his earlier conviction.
Arrest and investigation
Sousa was arrested in Newmarket on 12th March. His arrest followed a stop by officers of a grey Nissan Juke driving along High Street, leading to a search of the vehicle.
Officers discovered a quantity of cash, a SIM card, numerous press seal bags containing cannabis, cocaine, and 10 vials identified as cocaine.
Further investigations revealed Sousa had been travelling to multiple addresses, indicating extensive drug supply activities.
Inspector Tim Scott remarked,
“This case demonstrates our continued commitment to tackling the supply of illegal drugs in Suffolk and it highlights the effectiveness of proactive policing, with officers stopping and searching those suspected of criminal activity.
“Drug-related crime causes significant harm and misery within our communities. We encourage members of the public to report concerns or suspicious activity so we can continue to disrupt those involved in the supply of illegal drugs.”
