Man arrested after serious collision in Haverhill
Suffolk police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Haverhill.
Officers were called on Thursday to the A143 Sturmer Road to reports of an incident involving a mini digger on a trailer, towed by a car, in collision with a male pedestrian.
The victim, a man in 30s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by ambulance, having sustained serious injuries. He is described as being in a serious but stable condition.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug-driving and was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning. He was further arrested in custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
