Man and dog rescued in tyre workshop fire in Glemsford
Five fire engines were called to help put out the flames
A man and a dog have been rescued after a tyre workshop caught fire in Glemsford.
Sussex Fire and Rescue Service says emergency services were called to Egremont Street at 12.49am on Tuesday 9 December.
Officers say it took around two hours to put the fire out.
A total of five fire engines were mobilised from Sudbury, Long Melford, Clare and Bury St Edmunds stations.
Low level concerns about asbestos were reported and the fire threatened to spread to neighbouring timber-framed buildings.
Flames were visible from a mile and a half away, leading to multiple calls to the service control room.
An investigation is expected to take place to work out what caused the fire.
