Ipswich man sentenced for making and distributing indecent images of children
Mohammed Ahmadzai receives suspended sentence and strict restrictions
Mohammed Ahmadzai, a 20-year-old from Ipswich, has received a suspended sentence after admitting to charges involving indecent images of children.
Sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court on 8th October, Ahmadzai pleaded guilty to three counts each of making and distributing indecent images of children.
He received a 12-month imprisonment term, suspended for 18 months, and was ordered to complete 120 hours of unpaid work.
Additionally, Ahmadzai was made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.
His arrest followed intelligence reports indicating the upload of indecent images to the internet.
Police seized Ahmadzai's mobile phone and other electronic devices from his home, uncovering various indecent images and videos across different categories.
Evidence showed Ahmadzai had distributed some material via WhatsApp.
Further restrictions include a trail monitoring requirement for six months, registration to the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years, and destruction of his mobile phone.
Detective Sergeant Mark Cotton from the Suffolk Internet Child Abuse Investigation Team underscored the severity of offences related to indecent images.
Although Ahmadzai received a suspended sentence, he faces rigorous conditions to prevent reoffending, including GPS monitoring and internet restrictions.
