A woman has been arrested after a four-year-old boy who was reported missing in Lowestoft was later found safe and well in another county.
Police were called at 9.22am this morning to Sands Lane, where it was reported that the boy, named Quinton, had gone missing.
A large-scale search was launched, involving Suffolk Police, Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue (SulSAR), and Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.
Following a coordinated effort, Quinton was located safe and well outside the county.
A 23-year-old woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of wasting police time. She was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where she remains in custody.
Suffolk Police expressed thanks to the media and members of the public for their support during the incident. Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the report are ongoing.
